Im having a nightmare with my phone. I have used various software to
get an original mp3 into a ringtone my phone knows. Im using
polyphonic wizard as a wap server but when my phone connects to my
computer it doesn`t recognise/see the ringtone i want to download.

Using Total Recorder to convert MP3 to correct properties.
Then AMR converter to convert sound file to .amr file that my phone
recognises.
Then putting the .amr file into folder and using Polyphonic Wizard to
act as wap server.

Does anyone know why my phone doesnt see the ringtone so I can
download it????

I`ve used the phone to email a sound to my pc and the sound I`ve
converted is the same.............aarrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh its doing my
head in :)

Thanks in advance for your help and I hope it makes sense :)

Sorry to piss you off again :), but I have now d/l nokia multimedia
converter which converts mp3, wave etc into nokia standard .amr &
.wb-amr files. But.......using Polyphonic Wizard to act as a server I
still cant get my phone to see the music files. Does anyone know what
I am doing wrong???

Thanks again and sorry to be a pain :)

i'm sick of arseing around trying to get my 6600 to play .mp3's to, i got a
program called oxygen phone manager thats supposed to let the 6600 play mp3s
but it's only atrial and will only convert 1file till you register it (do'nt
know how much to register) but i hav'nt got it sussed out yet.Might just
wait for my contract tofinish and get one of the new nokias that play mp3s
as standard!!

have you tried just sending the amr file from your pc using bluetooth
midi's go well enough sraight to ringtones?

I cant do that as I don`t have bluetooth on my PC. Even when I`ve sent
a midi file to the phone via wap server the file dont sound like it
did on the pc - think It might be due to the phone not supporting all
midi sounds. I think it only has 24 sounds (although I may be wrong).

Id like to be able to use my pc as a wap server to keep costs down but
may have to buy a cable to connect phone to pc. Hopefully someone will
be able to tell me what I`m doing wrong.

Thanks for your help.

ps, only got the phone 2 days ago and I love it :)
